Bull Sails Cruising Sails
Cruise-
Dacron crosscut
sails made from our Bluewater Cruise Dacron, this range of cloth is woven
in-house and represents good value for money. Aimed initially at the Caribbean
charter market where cost and longevity are the main priority. The cloth is of
a balanced construction to pr ovide good life span without reliance on coated
resins. Still manufactured to the highest standards and coupled with our range
of pre-cut Momentum spinnakers in both symmetric and asymmetric they represent
quality cruising sails at an affordable price. Suitable for sails up to 50 sq.
m.

Premium Cruise-
Built for the sailer who cruises but also like to race
regularly. Crosscut from premium quality Challenge Dacron, this range has more
options for better performance and individual preference. These sails are at home in the middle of the
ocean and rounding the top mark. Over 70% of the world’s sails are still made
from Dacron, the performance cruise range represent the leading edge of woven
sails.

Custom Axis Laminate Sails

Laminate sails-
For sails up to 50 sq. m. We recommend Custom Axis
Laminate. The CAL Sails offer Vectran or Pentex load bearing yarns with
polyester non load bearing yarns laminated between light Dacron covers. This makes a very strong low stretch
laminate. The yarns are orientated so
that there are more threads in the leach than in the luff to take the extra
loads generated when the sail is sheeted in tight. Also the tack and clew panels are orientated
to take the appropriate loads giving the sail the slight appearance of being a
tri radial sail.

CAL Sails are very low stretch and very strong, this
translates to the sail having a much wider wind range than a Dacron Sail. Performance is not dissimilar to top line
racing sails. The wider wind range means less heeling force, less weather helm,
the need to reef is significantly reduced and higher performance. CAL sails are
constructed, panel by panel, for each individual sail. The primary and secondary load carrying
fibres are custom laid at and angel determined by the load lines of each sail
being constructed. CAL Sails are also
the first to use 100% U.V. Block film.
This is the exact same film laminated to glass in cars to prevent
interior fading. As well as 100%
U.V. resistance it adds a tremendous
amount of strength and durability to the sails.
